The Queenstown Lakes District Council (QLDC) has now re-notified a variation to its proposed district plan, to introduce landscape schedules for one Outstanding Natural Feature (ONF) and 12 Rural Character Landscapes (RCL) in the Upper Clutha area.
An error in the original mapping meant notification was delayed until now, with several changes to the Mata Au Clutha River ONF and Rural Character Landscape areas being incorporated from subsequent feedback.
These landscape schedules include descriptions of landscape values and development capacity for particular areas, and will be used to assist in evaluating the appropriateness or otherwise of future resource consent and plan change applications.
The Upper Clutha Landscape Schedules Variation map issued by QLDC can be found here.
The closing date for submissions on the Variation is 13 December 2024.
