TODD & WALKER Law are proud to acknowledge we have adopted the Gender Equitable Engagement Policy.
The policy, as part of an ongoing commitment by the Law Society and New Zealand Bar Association to improve the advancement of women within the legal profession, requires law firms to increase the proportion of women lawyers leading court proceedings and ensure women are given a fair allocation of work in major cases. The firm is one of only 16 firms across New Zealand to have adopted this policy and one of only two firms in Otago and Southland.
TODD & WALKER Law now has a total of 15 staff, of which 12 are women. In particular four are qualified barristers and solicitors in litigation roles which see them regularly handling court and advocacy work; Louise Denton, Associate in our Criminal Litigation team, Fran Hesp, Senior Solicitor in our Employment and Civil litigation team, Sophie Diedrichs, Solicitor assisting with Employment, RMA and Civil litigation and Paige Noorland, Solicitor assisting with Criminal Litigation.
Louise and Fran in particular regularly perform lead roles in Court and other dispute resolution platforms. Paige is also about to complete her duty lawyer training she commenced in 2017.
